Lucien Bellon débarque à Los Angeles pour honorer une dette de jeu : il doit exécuter Victor Kovacs, milliardaire impliqué dans des affaires douteuses. Son crime commis, il regagne son hôtel, mais sa réservation a été annulée et ses affaires ont disparu. Dans la rue, il échappe de peu à un tueur lancé à ses trousses. Il lui faut se rendre à l'évidence : ses mystérieux employeurs ont décidé de l'éliminer, et il est seul, en danger, dans une ville étrangère, ignorant qui cherche à l'abattre.



(French hit man Lucien (Jean-Louis Trintignant) faces off against American hit man Lenny (Roy Scheider) in the scummier sections of the City of Angels. The problem is, they've both been hired by the same people to knock off the same mobster. Culture-clash and gun-related hijinks ensue.)
