Aaron Lines entered the Cancountry music scene in 2001 and has proceeded to rack-up an enviable 12 consecutive Top 10 singles. Moments That Matter, his third album, will likely keep that hit streak intact, even though this collection takes a more hands-on approach with Aaron Lines writing or co-writing all ten songs, producing the album himself…and even becoming a record label ‘boss’, by forming his own record label to launch the project.



The album has already yielded another major hit for Aaron Lines with the lead single, Cheaper To Keep Her, a tongue-in-cheek country tune, that ushers in what seems to be a more pronounced “country” direction with his music, as opposed to the pop/country feel that we heard on his first two albums. Other selections here that emphasize the pure country approach include the fun tune Let’s Get Drunk And Fight, the hurtin’ barroom bust-up in Just Drunk Enough; and the blue collar mid-tempo, Everyday Heroes. Aaron Lines also dips into Kenny Chesney’s beach-song territory with the breezy Sometimes It’s Summertime; and also scores well here with the uptempo It Broke Off.



Fans of the more contemporary pop/country side of Aaron Lines won’t be disappointed, as they are catered to with some mellow stuff in the love songs When We Make Love and Nothing Like You, while the album’s title track Moments That Matter pretty much reaches all musical tastes.



Easily the most ‘moving’ item on the album comes in the message song Somebody’s Son. Liner notes in the album enlighten us on the inspiration behind the song – Aaron Lines caught a news story about the death of Canadian soldier Paul Davis, and what his father, Jim Davis (of Nova Scotia) was doing to keep his son’s memory alive. After writing the song, Aaron Lines tracked down Jim Davis and presented him with a copy of the song…which has since impacted on many who were close to the fallen soldier and his comrades. Watch for Somebody’s Son to become another major hit record for Aaron Lines… and quite likely a song that will become a staple with families and friends of our Canadian Armed Forces during this current time of turmoil in our history.



Moments That Matter was produced by Aaron Lines and recorded largely at studios in Nashville.
